Criminology is a term used for the study of criminal behavior including factors and causes of crime. This study also deals with the social impact of any crime of the criminal itself and on the victim and his or her family. There are two major classifications in this discipline of social science. First is classicistic approach while the other is known as positivist approach of criminal study. The positivist approach of criminology is referred to the state in which a person loses its mental control and will commit a crime. In this discipline the factors of inner and outer circumstances are believed to be responsible for losing control from mind. On the other hand the classicistic approach argues with the factors suggested by positivist. According to this discipline every person has the ability to make a decision under any circumstances this is not to be believed that a person has loses his decision making ability. Every committed crime is a result of just a wrong decision which can be taken in hurry and with the feeling of rage and anger to take revenge. This great philosopher does not change these punishments but he generally provided ways by which other ways to punish these offenders could be used.
He did not introduce any new theory for punishing these culprits but
he generally introduced criteria to punish them. he believed that there
should be a hierarchal format according to which criminals should be
punished. As in previous years there were rules which applied same
punishment to any level of crime that a criminal used to commit. These
types of principals were not efficient enough to maintain law and order
in country. So a new idea was introduced by this great philosopher
according to which culprits were going to be punished according to
crimes that they committed.Every criminal was judged on a different basis and was allotted his punishment according to these rules. These were basically classical criminology methods that were being used. Later on several other criteria were added to this method which proved beneficial in maintaining peace and order in the country.
