Glo Unveils 9 New Millionaires in Jos   
Mr. Zaki Kwanta, a car dealer based in Garki, Abuja and Ashiru Adigun, a soldier based at Effurun Barracks in Warri, Delta State are among the nine new millionaires in the ongoing Glo ''text 4 millions'' promo who received their cheques of N1m each at the Glo Lafta Fest Show held in Jos at the weekend. Adigun, who has now won the daily prize for the second time, and Kwanta joined seven others who received their cheques in Jos, thus bringing the total cash payout in the promo to N32m. The other seven lucky winners include Miss Grace Nelson Uwe, a Banking and Finance undergraduate of the University of Calabar, Mr. David Oborihowho, a Funds Manager who lives in Ikorodu, Lagos State and Alhaji Biliaminu Idowu, a trader from Iyana Ipaja, Lagos. Others are Mr. Justin Iyare who is a staff of a transport company in Abuja, Mr. Laoke Ajibade, a 2nd year Business Administration student of the Lagos State University, (LASU), Mrs. Kofoworola Ejoh, a civil servant with the Ministry of Transportation in Lagos and Mr. Azubuike Achonu, who trades in building materials at Idumota, Lagos. One of the winners, Mr. Zaki Kwanta from Abuja explained while receiving his cheque that he got to know about the promo through the SMS. He said that he had only 1,490 points when he got a call from Glo informing him that he had won the N1m daily prize.''I am very happy to be a winner. I am going to use the money to grow my car business and I am also recharging more because my next target is the N10m (monthly prize)'', he said. Adigun on his part told the audience that winning for the second time is a strong affirmation of the reality and transparency of the promo. ''When I was called a second time, I was happy because it affirmed to me that the promo is real. Most of my colleagues on realising that anyone could win have changed their lines to Glo so they can also participate in the promo'', he said. Dignitaries who presented cheques to the winners during the event include the Director General of the Nigerian Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Professor Ahmed Danfulani, Deputy Commissioner, Nigerian Police Staff College, Mr. Femi Folawiyo, Plateau State Commander of the Nigerian Civil Defence Corps, Mr. Desmond Agu, MD, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, Mr. Obinna Abajie and Glo ambassadors, Rita Dominic and Nuhu Aliu. Entertainers who performed to thrill the audience who rated the show as one of the best ever in the city include ace comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka, Basket Mouth, I Go Dye, Gandoki, MC Abbey, and musicians such as P-Square, Eldee and Faze. The Lafta Fest train will move to the ancient city of Ibadan on Sunday, August 16 where the next set of winners in the Glo ''text 4 millions'' promo are to be presented with their prizes. 10 New Glo millionaires collect cheques in Enugu    
It was a time for happiness, excitement and fun for Glo subscribers as 10 lucky winners in the ongoing Glo ''Text 4 millions'' promotion received their cheques at the Glo Lafta Fest Enugu edition over the weekend. The new Glo millionaires who were earlier unveiled at a ceremony in Lagos are Mr. Andrew Amagada, a welder from Warri, Delta State, Mr. Collins Uwadia a service engineer with the Nokia Service Centre in Lagos, Mr Sunday Okere, a PHCN staff from Uromi, Edo State and Mr Taoheed Olaide Agbaje, a factory worker in Lagos. Others are Mr. Ismaila Taiye Babalola, a fuji musician based in Kebbi State, Mrs. Omobola Ishie, a businesswoman based in Lagos, Mr. Mike Eguaikhide a trader in recharge cards in Benin, Edo State and two clergymen, Rev. Aloysious Okonji from Asaba, Delta State, Rev. (Dr). J. Ade-Ajayi from Ighara, Edo State and Mr. Nnamdi Umeora from Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. Bubbling with excitement throughout the event, the new Glo millionaires were presented to the Enugu audience and handed their cheques by dignitaries who graced the occasion. Text for Millions'' Promo winners receive prizes   
Globacom has presented prizes to first set of winners in the''Text for Millions'' promotion. The winners are Chigozie Ekeoma from Port Harcourt, Ashiru Adigun and Friday Obiebi from Warri, Delta State, and Kwabena Yeboah from Lagos. The winners who emerged from the daily draws received their prizes of one million naira (N1,000,000) each at a presentation ceremony held at the Mike Adenuga Towers, Globacom?s corporate headquarters in Lagos. Speaking at the event, Globacom?s Group COO, Mohamed Jameel, said that the total prize money to be given away in the promo is N555m. This includes N100 free airtime for 10,000 winners everyday and other exciting prizes such as laptops, 3G modems, I-pods and generator sets in addition to N1m cash every day, 2 special prizes of N10m monthly and the N30m grand prize. This will throw up a total of 10,266 winners on a daily basis. Present at the occasion were renowned actors and actresses who were recently signed on as Glo ambassadors. They will be endorsing the promotion on road shows currently being held across the country. The ambassadors include Ramsey Nouah, Jim Iyke, Desmond Elliot, Nonso Diobi, Mike Ezuruonye and Ali Nuhu. Mark, Ekaette praise Glo's support for environment    
Globacom's support for the promotion of a safer and greener environment earned it accolades in Abuja at the formal inauguration of an ambitious initiative to safeguard the Nigerian environment through tree planting. The event was the launch of the Plant A Tree Today Initiative (PATTIN), an effort of Mrs Helen Onma Mark in conjunction with a nationwide network of other concerned advocates for the promotion of good environment. Mrs Mark, wife of the Nigerian Senate President, in her remark at the event praised Globacom for strongly supporting the initiative. ''Globacom is graciously leading the way in partnership with the sponsorship of this project'', Mark said. She assured of effective utilization of Globacom's support which she noted had enabled the scheme to take off. The PATTIN initiative, she explained, has set a target of planting one million trees per local government in the first phase of four years.'' She also added that the initiative would be interested in securing the nation's diverse ecosystem through a variety of other activities. Member of the Senate Committee on the Environment, Senator Eme Ufot Ekaette, praised Globacom's support for the project. She said it was not just a coincidence that Globacom chose a green colour for its brand as the colour is nature-friendly. ''Glo has been nature-friendly, their colour is earth-friendly'', she said.
